Collector inspected the city’s traffic system .Instructions given to improve traffic system

Inspected other squares and intersections including CSEB Chowk, Balco-Risdi and Sarvamangala Marg

Korba  With the aim of improving the traffic system of the city, the newly appointed Collector of the district  Ajit Vasant today inspected various roads and intersections of the city and gave instructions to the officials. During this, Municipal Commissioner Ms. Pratishtha Mamgai, SDM Korba Shri Shrikant Verma, officials of Public Works Department, Traffic Police and other departments were present.

Collector Vasant, taking information from the officials about the jam spots caused by heavy vehicles in the city, inspected CSEB Chowk, Sarvamangala Tiraha, Sarvamangala-Kanki Marg, Ratakhar Marg, Major Dhyanchand Chowk, Parsabhatha Chowk and Risdi Chowk. He took information regarding heavy vehicles passing through all these points and gave necessary instructions. During the inspection, the Collector said that care should be taken to ensure that there is no traffic pressure due to heavy vehicles and jams due to it. Instructions were given to prepare a traffic plan, taking special care to ensure that the general public does not face problems due to heavy vehicles and accidents do not occur. He instructed to operate the heavy vehicles carrying coal from the mine only on the prescribed route. While observing the entry routes and exit points of heavy vehicles within the city, instructions were given to make the traffic system better and easier. He also directed that there should not be haphazard parking of vehicles on main roads so that traffic is not disrupted unnecessarily. Instructions were given to make transportation arrangements for heavy vehicles going out of the district from the outskirts of the city. He instructed the officials to complete the road construction work in front of the Sarvamangala temple soon.

Observed Gerwaghat Intake Well

Collector Ajit Vasant today inspected the intake well constructed under Amrit Mission Scheme at Gerwaghat in the city. He took information about the water supply system from here and gave instructions. Through pumping in this intake well located at Gerwaghat, raw water of Hasdev River is taken to the water treatment plant (29 MLD) located at Kohadia. From here, water is treated and supplied to Amrit Mission Scheme Part-2 Darri, Sarvamangala, Banki-Mongra areas. After this, the Collector inspected the construction work of cross regular gate in the canal near the intake well and gave instructions to complete the work soon. He also directed to complete the work of the under construction canal road connecting Gerwaghat road to the pump house soon.
