Two absconding accused arrested in connection with a robbery case in the Manikpur Assistance Centre area.

KORBA – Under the ‘Sajag Korba, Satark Korba’ (Alert Korba, Vigilant Korba) campaign, the Korba Police is continuously conducting a special drive to apprehend absconding and wanted accused persons.

In this connection, two accused persons—who had been absconding since the incident—were arrested and produced before the court in relation to a serious robbery case that occurred in the area of ​​the Manikpur Assistance Centre under the Kotwali Police Station.

From there, he was sent to judicial remand. On December 21, 2025, the complainant, Deepak Thakur, lodged a report at the Manikpur Assistance Centre, Kotwali Police Station.

That at approximately 2:30 AM in the Dadarkhurd area, the accused, along with their accomplices, assaulted him and robbed him of property worth around ₹2,00,000, including a gold chain weighing 20–22 grams and ₹70,000 in cash.

Based on the report, a case was registered at the Kotwali police station, and an investigation was initiated. During the course of the investigation, the police conducted a detailed inspection of the crime scene, collected evidence, performed technical analysis, and searched for the accused.

A charge sheet had previously been filed in court against one of the accused in the case, while two others had remained absconding since the incident. Continuous raids were being conducted at suspected hideouts to apprehend them.

Surveillance was being maintained based on the informant network and technical intelligence. As a result of persistent efforts, both accused were located and taken into custody.

During interrogation, both accused admitted their involvement in the incident. After completing the necessary legal formalities, both accused were formally arrested and produced before the court.
