Balko Mahila Mandal celebrated Teej festival

Balconnagar – Balco Mahila Mandal organized Teej festival with pomp. The chief guest of the program was Shreya Pandey, wife of Korba Superintendent of Police Uday Kiran. The program was started with lamp lighting, Ganesh stuti and conch shell by the chief guest and other office bearers.The chief guest thoroughly enjoyed the cultural programmes. He praised Balko Mahila Mandal President Manisha Kumar and the members for the excellent event.

Balko Mahila Mandal President honored the chief guest by presenting her with a bouquet. In her welcome address, Manisha Kumar apprised the chief guest about various social works of Balko Mahila Mandal and congratulated Hariyali Teej.
He told that Mahila Mandal organizes programs for talent development of women and children from time to time. Mahila Mandal has an important contribution in the cultural upliftment of Balkonagar region.

Appreciating the event Shreya Pandey said that the event was extremely entertaining. He said that BALCO is making excellent contribution in the local area through its community development works. Appreciating the presentation of excellent cultural programs by the members of Balko Mahila Mandal, he congratulated everyone on Hariyali Teej.

Selection of ‘Teej Queen’ was the main attraction. The selection of Teej Queen was done in four rounds in which all the participants participated enthusiastically. After passing through various stages, the competition reached the final round, in which selection was made on the basis of beauty, catwalk and intellectual ability.The chief guest asked questions to the participants in the last phase. By answering all the questions correctly, Shweta Singh Solanki won the title of ‘Teej Queen’, Mamta Katkwar won the title of ‘Queen of Heart’ and Alka Prithvikar the title of ‘Queen of Glory’.

In the cultural program, the members of Mahila Mandal won the hearts of everyone with wonderful dance and excellent presentation of folk songs showing the worship of Shiva and Parvati. There was excellent participation by the members in various stalls, swings and cultural programmes. Teej gifts were given to all the present members.

Simran Kaur expressed her gratitude to all the members of Mahila Mandal and the chief guest for the successful organization of the programme. He said that Balko Mahila Mandal is playing an important role in the upliftment of Balko Nagar through its cultural programmes.
